Paper: Comparison of graphical and gatekeeping procedures for multiplicity control in clinical trials

Multiplicity problems abound in confirmatory controlled clinical trials. Strong control of the familywise error rate (FWER) is often a prerequisite for obtaining regulatory claims in the product label. Graphical and gatekeeping procedures are two popular and powerful multiple testing procedures for addressing multiplicity issues in the analysis of randomized clinical trials. We will compare these two classes of methods in terms of power, flexibility, ease of communication, and availability of software implementation using clinical trial examples.
