This form is not a substitute for the formal application. Its purpose is to provide only a quick preliminary feedback before you proceed with an application through formal channels. [The formal application process is described in http://www.umbc.edu/gradschool/admissions. Printable applications forms (in the pdf format) can be downloaded from that site.]

The department provides a limited number of financial aid packages in the form of Teaching and Research Assistantships. Typically these provide tuition for up to 10 credit-hours of courses per semester, health benefits, and a stipend. The assistantships are in great demand and are awarded on a highly competitive basis. Obtaining admission is easier than obtaining admission plus financial aid. I will be applying for a Teaching/Research Assistantship.
