**Dissertation Support Group, every other Wednesday, 4:00-5:15pm, focuses specifically on issues/concerns/struggles related to completing one’s dissertation or thesis. Topics could include managing time, completing research, finding an effective focus, collaborating with advisors, meeting deadlines, combating isolation, etc. Contact UCS to participate. Time Management Workshop (Monday, noon-12:45pm, 4/7/08 ): Where does the time go? Learn strategies and techniques for working more efficiently, feeling more in control of your schedule, and having time for relaxing activities.
Procrastination Workshop (Monday, noon-12:45pm, 4/14/08): Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow? If this has become your motto, increase your productivity and decrease your stress by understanding why you procrastinate and learning how to change that pattern.
Stress Management Workshop (Monday, noon-12:45pm, 4/21/08): Feeling stressed out? High stress levels are often experienced in an achievement-oriented academic environment and can take a toll physically and emotionally. This workshop is designed to help you learn strategies for reducing sources and symptoms of stress and for coping with the stressors that cannot be eliminated.
Test Anxiety Workshop (Monday, noon-12:45pm, 4/28/08): Does everything you've studied go out of your head as the professor is passing out the exam? In this workshop learn strategies to deal with the anxiety related to studying and test taking. Understand and change the behaviors and thoughts that interfere with successful performance.
