Sustainable Land Transformations in Northeast Ohio

The Cuyahoga Sustainability Network targets research and knowledge
generation to fill key information gaps supporting sustainable land
transformation decisions. We focus in particular on land transformation
decisions that shape, alter, and ultimately define the landscape as urban
and suburban metroplexes grow, evolve, age, and rejuvenate themselves.

The program elements establish a collaborative portfolio applying research
on the science, engineering, economics, and social context of land use and
land transforming decisions, focused on the sustainability of land
transformation decisions and their cumulative effects on aquatic
ecosystems. The science and technology applications are targeted to key
information needs supporting sustainable decision making at the
intersection of natural systems, engineered systems and the built
environment, and the social and institutional structures of human systems
in the landscape.
