Soil Moisture and Temperature Equipment

A suite of soil moisture and temperature sensors was deployed behind the TRC in the test mode on December 20, 2008.  The purpose is two-fold: (1) to test several options for sensors for wider deployment around the watershed; (2) to deploy the instruments generating data required as input for the water vapor calculations together with eddy covariance data.  Documentation of the set-up and experiences with the equipment to date will be posted in spring 2009.

A pdf file documenting our experiences with the probe installation and maintenance can be found here.
