In most of the Gwynns Falls watershed, water supply is provided by municipal services from one of three surface water reservoirs. However, there are a number of wells in use for various purposes, including golf course irrigation, water quality monitoring, and homeowner water supply in outlying regions. In winter 2006-2007, existing regional and federal data bases were collated, and in spring and summer 2007, "scouting" for wells took place in partnership with USGS. As of fall 2007, approximately 80 wells had been located in the Gwynns Falls region; 100 were in the data base as of spring 2008. Water level synoptics were taken in spring 2007 (32 wells), fall 2007 (80 wells), and spring 2008 (100 wells). In-Situ water level loggers were installed in 6 "adopted" wells no longer in use by homeowners plus one USGS well. A MODFLOW model is being calibrated to water levels under low (fall) and high (spring) conditions.
