On May 4, 2004 a meeting was held at UMBC to determine the level of interest in proposing a CUAHSI Hydrologic Observatory for the MidAtlantic region. The majority of attendees expressed interest in focusing on the following group of basins within the Chesapeake Bay drainage area: the Potomac, the Maryland Western Shore, the Patuxent, and the Rappahannock, as shown on the map to the right.
