are subject to change by the Maryland State Department of Education.
The dance major may be combined with study in the field of education.
Students interested in teaching as a career may choose dance as
their major field of study as they pursue course work in Early Childhood,
Elementary, or Secondary Education, through UMBC’s department
of education. The dance department, in cooperation with the
education department, has also designed a course of study for dance
majors interested in obtaining state certification as a dance specialist.
