UMBC students at The Universities at Shady Grove enjoy small class sizes, close faculty-student collaborations, and a diverse student population. Undergraduate programs at UMBC-Shady Grove include: history, political science, psychology and social work. UMBC-Shady Grove offers graduate programs in biotechnology, cybersecurity, geographic information systems and industrial/organizational psychology.

Summer and Winter Programs
Summer and Winter Sessions provide an opportunity to get a jump start on graduation requirements, lighten fall/spring course loads, focus on courses that need extra study time, and enjoy smaller classes and personal attention from UMBC's exceptional, student-focused faculty. Students can earn up to 16 credits during Summer Session (May-August) , which offers 4,6,8 and 12 week sessions, and up to 4.5 credits during Winter Session (January).
UMBC also offers Summer STEM, an initiative to help UMBC and visiting students stay on track with their STEM curriculum by offering a variety of STEM courses.
