E-billing Frequently Asked Questions
What
information will I need to sign up for e-billing?
You will be asked for your last name, Campus
Card ID and zip code, as well as your UMBC email address.
Please note that your myUMBC login is not your e-billing
login. You
will be creating a login for e-billing.
Are students
required to pay online?
If you choose to pay by credit card, MasterCard, Discover
or American Express, you must pay online.
Help!
I’m having trouble signing up. What should I do?
If you have double-checked your information and still cannot
sign up, please send an email to bursar@umbc.edu
or call (410) 455-2288.
How
will I know when my bill is available?
When you sign up for e-billing, you will be asked for 3 e-mail
addresses. An e-mail notification will be sent to these addresses
when bills are available for viewing. If you forget to view your
bill once you’ve been notified that it is available, you
will receive an additional reminder e-mail a few days later.
My parents
pay the bill, can they sign up for e-billing?
Although many parents pay the bills, the account is in the
student's name. Once the student signs up for e-billing,
parents will be able to create their own log-in to the student's
e-billing account.
Is
there a charge for e-billing?
There is no charge for e-billing or for ACH payments online,
however there is a convenience fee charged for online credit
card payments.
Will
I still be able to see my account information on myUMBC?
Yes, your most up-to-date account information will continue to
be available on myUMBC. E-billing provides a snapshot of the bill
that would have been sent out in the mail. While e-billing will
be updated monthly, myUMBC will reflect payments made in person
at the Cashier’s Office immediately, online payments within
2 business days of submission and mailed payments within 2 business
days of receipt.
Will
anything else change with regard to my bill?
No, nothing else will change. Bills will still be generated
and posted monthly. The grace period and late fee policy
will also remain the same.
