| UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND, BALTIMORE COUNTY, Department of Education invites applications for graduate assistant positions in education for the 2007 academic year. A full-time graduate assistant is expected to work twenty hours a week from January 15 to June 16 and from August 15 to January 15, 2008. Occasionally 1/2 year appointments are available. A graduate assistant is expected to register for a minimum of six credits of course work or thesis research each semester but may take up to ten semester hours each fall or spring with tuition remitted. Tuition remission does not apply to summer and winter classes. Current UMBC Department of Education Graduate Assistants must reapply for positions within the department each year and must compete with the pool of new applicants. |

Assignment of duties will depend on the specific program and background of the applicant. They may include assistance with one or more of the following:
- Maintain Program records and data bases
- Maintain records and communication with Department applicants
- Research and Program Evaluation
- Assist students with eportfolio preparations
- Computer Data Input and Management
- Administrative Aide Duties

- Must be seeking graduate degree at UMBC
- 3.0 GPA and full admission to Graduate School
- Preferably two semesters away from Phase II of internship (if applicable).

- Ability to multitask and prioritize

| Graduate assistants receive a stipend of $11,324 per academic year (2006/2007), up to 10 graduate credits with tuition remission, and an individual health benefit. |

In the application letter state your qualifications and describe what skills and talents you can bring to the department.
