SPANISH CONCENTRATION REQUIREMENTS  
                                                                                                          GENERAL FOUNDATION REQUIREMENTS
SPAN 301 Advanced Spanish I During initial advisement, the teacher candidate
SPAN 302 Advanced Spanish II should see an education adviser. Certain GFR
SPAN 307 Espana y sus Culturas courses can also be used to meet specific requirements
SPAN 308 Latinoamerica y sus Culturas of the Education Certification Program.
SPAN 311 Introduction to Spanish Literature  
SPAN 312 Introduction to Contemporary Latin American Literature * PSYC 100 Introduction to Psychology
SPAN 401 Studies in Spanish Language * Two additional social science courses
SPAN 421 Studies in Hispanic Literature * Three arts and humanities course  
  * Three language and culture courses              
Two elective Spanish Courses must be * A mathematics course
taken  at the 300 or 400 level * Two science courses
 
NOTE: There are also two-language options available. The ability to teach two languages is highly valued by prospective
