EDUC 351 Observation and Assessment in Early Childhood Education. - 3 credits

Teacher candidates learn to observe young children in five processes (communicating, perceiving, knowing, feeling, and creating), plan, implement, and evaluate activities to foster development of these processes, and to use naturalistic assessment, including Work Sampling. Teacher candidates begin constructing a professional portfolio following INTASC standards. (Prerequisite: Permission of the department)
