The IMC is primarily a resource center for students studying languages. Located in the Academic IV building, B Wing room 219, it has 3 computer lab areas (35 PCs and 10 MACs), VHS/DVD players, campus cable system, quiet study areas, cassette recorders, copier, printer and scanner. Students need an ID to use materials in the IMC - videos, etc. may only be used in the center. For the English learner we have cassettes and booklets for practicing, but there are many videos and the computer program Tell Me More also. There are two video collections- one for languages and one for general academic studies like Psychology, Sociology and History. In the language catalog I would look at the Education, Linguistics and Modern Languages subject areas. Classes are held in some of the areas of the IMC so there may be times of restricted access. Please visit our website- www.umbc.edu/imc and the IMC for more information.
