Short Biographical Sketch
Dr. Xin Lu received his B.S. degree in a double major in mathematics and physics from Albright College in Pennsylvania before joining UMBC in 1992. He received his M.S. in 1994 and his Ph.D. in 2000 at UMBC.
Dr. Lu is a Senior Engineer at Zimmer, Inc. The role of the Research Department at Zimmer is to support new product development as well as to maintain quality assurance on current products. Dr. Lu’s responsibilities includes formulating test strategies to address regulatory concerns and to support marketing objectives, design test and analyses protocols (which often become the ASTM standard test for the medical device industry), and write supporting documents for submission and claims.
