The Mechanical Engineering Department is now offering two graduate certificate programs: "Mechatronics" and "Computational Fluid Dynamics". These certificate programs consist of four graduate courses focused on the title area.

These certificate programs are intended for engineers who seek advanced training in these focus areas, but do not wish to embark on an advanced degree program (M.S. or Ph.D.). However, after completion of the certificate requirements, students may continue in the M.S. or Ph.D. program (or the M.S. Engineering Management) in which the courses completed for the certificate count towards the course requirements towards the higher degree.

In order to pursue the certificate programs, students must apply and be admitted into the Mechanical Engineering Graduate Program or the M.S. Engineering Management Program.

Mechatronics

This Certificate program requires the completion of the following graduate courses:

ENME 605 Advanced Systems Control
ENME 811M Mechatronics Systems Design
ENME 812P Analog and Digital Electronics
ENME 812E Electro-Mechanical Energy Conversions

Computational Fluid Dynamics

This Certificate program requires the completion of the following graduate courses:

Math 404 Partial Differential Equations
ENME 631 Advanced Conduction and Radiation Heat Transfer
ENME 640 Fundamentals of Fluid Mechanics
ENME 645 Computational Fluid Mechanics & Heat Transfer
