Carol
Fitzpatrick

Carol Fitzpatrick is Senior Lecturer in English. She received a B.A. in English (with
Honors) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an
M.A. in English at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Her research interests include Composition and Rhetoric, Nineteenth
and Twentieth Century American and British literature, and Southern
literature. In her classes, she typically incorporates technology
through Blackboard sites and encourages active student participation.
Since 1996, she has been the Director of the Writing and Rhetoric
Division of the English Department.
Her
most recent book, co-written with Marybeth Ruscica and Vince Fitzpatrick,
is The Complete Sentence Workout Book with Readings, 5th ed. (Boston,
MA: Longman, 2004). Vince Fitzpatrick was the co-author also on
the 2nd alternate edition of The Complete Sentence Workout Book
(Heath, 1991). With Marybeth Ruscica Carol Fitzpatrick has co-authored
Reading Thresholds, 2nd ed. (Boston, MA: Houghton Mifflin Co., 1999);
Reading Passages (Lexington, MA: D. C. Heath and Company, 1997);
