Piotr Gwiazda is Assistant Professor of English. He received his bachelor´s degree from Southern Connecticut State University and his doctorate from New York University. His teaching and research interests include American literature and culture, twentieth-century American and British poetry, poetic theory, literary translation, and Polish émigré writing. He has received grants and fellowships from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, the National Humanities Center (Summer Institute in Literary Studies), and the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center.
Professor Gwiazda is the author of James Merrill and W.H. Auden: Homosexuality and Poetic Influence (Palgrave Macmillan, 2007). His articles and reviews have appeared in American Literature, Chicago Review, Contemporary Literature, Journal of Modern Literature, PN Review, Postmodern Culture, Times Literary Supplement, Texas Studies in Literature and Language, and other journals.
He is also the author of a volume of poems, Gagarin Street (Washington Writers’ Publishing House, 2005). |
