2011/2012 Joseph and Frieda Faiman Eisenberg/VPC Entrepreneurship Scholarship Winners

This year, the Frieda Faiman Eiseberg/VPC Entrepreneurship Scholarship fund awarded two (2) $500 scholarships to entrepreneurial UMBC students.

Omolara Akintade, Financial Economics, has always known he wanted to be an entrepreneur. While attending high school in Nigeria he served as the treasurer of the Entrepreneurship Society. While in college in the United States he started a business called “Dress Right”, which he still runs today. His business sends clothes, shoes, purses and other items to Nigeria for sale. Omolara is currently a member of UMBC’s student club called the Entrepreneurial Society.

Alexander Drude, Biochemical Engineering, has recently organized a group of four fellow engineers to improve the efficiency of harnessing energy from wastewater and unwanted materials for developing nations. He is currently conducting research in this area and his goal is to start a non-profit organization in the future that will design a system for wastewater treatment for developing countries.
