Virtually all of the retirement centers managed by Holiday are owned or controlled by the principals of the company via partnerships or other entities. Mr. Colson is also President and Managing General Partner of Colson & Colson Construction Co., which was founded in 1963 by Mr. Colson and his father, Hugh D. Colson. Colson & Colson has developed and constructed over 274 retirement communities in North America, in 2004 was the 14th largest multi-family builder and has been one of the largest independent living providers in the United States for the past several years. Mr. Colson is also the President of Colson & Colson General Contractor, Inc. He is on the Board of Peverel Holdings Ltd., the largest operator of senior sheltered housing in the United Kingdom, and serves as a member of the Executive Board of the American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA).

John Erickson is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer for Erickson Retirement Communities. In 1983, he founded Erickson Retirement Communities with the intent to create an exciting lifestyle with a premium health care component for seniors age 62 or better. Erickson Communities now have more than 14,000 residents living in a nationwide network of residences. John Erickson and his family are dedicated to the study and promotion of positive aging in our society. The communities he has helped to create and his philanthropic contributions are changing the way society views aging, helping to foster a new understanding and respect for older Americans. UMBC's Erickson School of Aging Studies is named in his honor.

Tom Hutchison has been involved in senior management and consulting, primarily related to the real estate development and the financial services industry for the last 30 years. He has been president and owner of numerous real estate services and development companies including Atlantic Realty Service, Inc. and TJH Development Corporation. He is also a member of The Real Estate Roundtable and the Industry Real Estate Financing Advisory Council, as well as serving on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida and the Board of Trustees for Trinity Forum.

Paul Klaassen founded Sunrise Senior Living with his wife, Terry, in 1981. He has served as chairman and chief executive officer of Sunrise since the company's inception. He is the founding chairman and a director of the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA), and currently serves as a director of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and The National Chamber Foundation. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of The Hudson Institute, The Institute for American Values, The Ethics and Public Policy Center, The Trinity Forum and on the Advisory Committee for the Department of Health Care Policy at Harvard University Medical School and is president of the Netherland-America Foundation.
Robert G. Kramer

Bob Kramer helped found and is currently director of the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care Industries (NIC), a nonprofit educational and research forum dealing with the process of efficient capital formation for the senior care industries. A frequent writer and speaker on trends in senior housing and long term care, Mr. Kramer also serves as president of Kramer-Crosby, an Annapolis-based consulting firm providing strategic marketing services for the health care and seniors housing industries. A former county government official and Maryland state legislator, Mr. Kramer formerly served on the Board of Directors of the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA).

Larry Minnix has been in the mental health and aging services fields for over 35 years. He was associated with the Wesley Woods Center of Emory University for 28 years, where he started as an administrative intern in 1972 and rose to position of CEO, one he held for 10 years. The non-profit AAHSA serves two million people every day and is dedicated to providing a continuum of in-home services including assisted living residences, continuing care retirement communities, nursing homes, outreach programs, and senior housing.

John Mulherin is currently chief executive officer of Ziegler. His prior financial service experience includes executive positions at Fidelity Investments, First Chicago and Continental Illinois Bank. He was also president of National Financial Correspondent Services Company and chief operating officer of Fidelity Investments Institutional Services Company. He has lectured on the subject of Service Quality at DePaul, has been an active volunteer for Neighborhood Housing Services, and is a regular participant in various American Bankers Association, Securities Industry Association, and Investment Company Institute forums and sub-committees.

Thomas C. Nelson joined AARP in 1980 as Manager of Consumer Affairs, working his way up to COO in 2002. Prior to joining AARP, he held a position at the University of Southern California Andrus Gerontology Center and as a member of the Federal Trade Commission, where he worked on the investigation and subsequent regulation of the funeral industry, inquiries related to nursing homes and other consumer issues facing the elderly.

David S. Schless
has served as president/CEO of the American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA) since its creation in 1991. With 19 years of experience in seniors housing, David has an extensive understanding of seniors housing policy and regulatory issues, and an intimate knowledge of the seniors housing business. His responsibilities include serving as treasurer of the Seniors Housing Political Action Committee, the nation’s largest PAC focused exclusively on supporting federal candidates who support the development and preservation of high quality housing and services for the 55+ population.
David is the co-author of the HDR Affordable Seniors Housing Handbook, which was revised and published 10 times between 1995 and 2005 by Thomson West. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Center for Aging and Human Development at the University of Connecticut, and a Master of Science degree from the Department of Applied Gerontology/Center for Studies in Aging at the University of North Texas.
David currently serves on the editorial boards of the Seniors Housing & Care Journal, and has been honored as a Distinguished Alumnus by both the University of Connecticut and the University of North Texas for his work on behalf of America’s seniors.

William Sims is nationally known for his expertise in senior housing and the health care industry, where he has overseen the financing of hundreds of projects since 1973. His expertise also includes mergers and acquisitions and the restructuring and refinancing of distressed properties. In addition to working with investment banking clients, Mr. Sims oversees the firm's retail and institutional distribution of securities. He has been a guest speaker at dozens of investment seminars and is the author of numerous articles on the long-term care and housing industries.
