All gifts of cash, securities, planned gifts and pledges in writing above $5,000 to the UMBC Capital Campaign will be recognized on a plaque.

The plaque will contain the names of all donors making contributions above $5,000. UMBC alumni will be denoted with graduation years appearing behind their names.

Young alumni (identified as 2001 or later graduates – using the most recent UMBC graduation year) will receive a half-price reduced rate into Campaign Giving Clubs. For example, a 2001 graduate need only contribute $2,500 to be included in the Pioneers Society.

Alumni, parent and faculty/staff campaigns begin 9/1/2006. Multi-year commitments over four or five years must be in writing. Commitments may be made until the end of the Campaign (6/30/2009).

Gift-in-kind and sponsored program donations do not count toward the plaque criteria, but matching gifts count. For example, if a UMBC alumna contributes $2,500 toward the Campaign and receives a matching gift of $2,500 from her employer, then that alumna appears on the plaque as a member of the Pioneers Society.

July 1, 2002 will be the beginning date for the Campaign through June 30, 2009.
