Duties:    Fun positions assisting in the construction and technical elements for mounting Theatre Department Productions. Positions in lighting & sound and in set construction. For set construction: Interest in and knowledge of construction practices and experience using power construction tools required. Ability to work completing essential tasks on own. For lighting & sound: Interest in and knowledge of lighting and/or sound equipment, comfortability with working on ladders and with heights. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties in a courteous and efficient manner. Ability to work completing essential tasks on own.
     
Required skills:    You must be able to do basic math, use a tape measure and power tools and be dependable.

Position:    Department Office Assistant
Positions Available:    3
Duties:    This position is essential in supporting departmental day-to-day functions and supporting the program management specialist. Responsibilities include: helping to organize department events, scheduling spaces, helping with the creation and printing of department production programs; sending publicity to multiple department mailing lists; maintaining department advising lists and files; entering information into and maintaining the department’s listserv for communicating department information to students and faculty. Assist with front of house and box office for Department productions. Other related duties assigned. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based upon departmental needs.
     
Required skills:    General knowledge of and skill in the practical application of generally accepted office practices and procedures. Ability to communicate effective both orally and in writing. Ability to proofread and edit written documents. Skill in various computer software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and presentation programs, Internet, email and Google calendar software. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties in a courteous and efficient manner. Professional demeanor and attire. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions.
