The review process takes into account the whole of the student’s
record; and while no set of “numbers” guarantees a scholarship
offer or scholarship amount, the main factors under review include:
- Cumulative GPA
- Standardized test scores (SAT or ACT)
- Strength of high school curriculum
- Trend in grades from freshman to senior year
General merit scholarship offers are mailed to selected students within
one month of their admissions acceptance.
In addition to general merit scholarships, UMBC offers six Scholars
Programs based on academic interest. A separate application is required for these programs.
