Research Interests:

Conservation and utilization of agrobiodiversity in general, with specific attention towards the biogeography and domestication of agricultural species. Special interests include African crop species as well as species used for fragrance and perfume.

Recent Research Activities:

- Investigating food deserts in urban systems as well as levels of agrobiodiversity in the urban food market.

- Genetic characterization of chestnut species to aid restoration of American chestnut throughout its native range.

- Analyzing how crop yields are impacted by centers of origin and biogeography as well as biotic constraints.

- Looking at centers of origin and domestication of the most economically important species used in the fragrance industry.
