The GIS lab is currently running Windows XP on 37 DELL Core-2 Opti-plex machines, each equipped with:

◦ Pentium 4 Processor running at 2.13 GHz
◦ 2 GB of RAM
◦160 GB hard drives
◦ DVD RAM Drive
◦ CD-RW Drive
◦ Duel 19" Digital Flat Panel Displays

Each machine is loaded with a variety of software packages designed to aid the student in classes as well as individual research projects. Some of the software used includes image analysis software such as ERDAS Imagine 8.7 for interpretation of satellite data, and ESRI's ARC-GIS 9.2 software suite for GIS and spatial analysis applications.

The lab is supported by a Dell Server running Windows Professional 2003 Server operating system.  It is equipped with:

◦ 2.8 GHz Pentium 4 Processor
◦ 2 GB RAM
◦ 1000 GB hard drive space in a RAID 5 configuration
