How to Apply

Apply Online

Applying to UMBC’s graduate programs is easy. When you Apply Online, you can create an account, submit your application information and pay the application fee by credit card over a secure Internet connection.

If you have any questions as you apply, please contact the appropriate Graduate School staff member for assistance.

Apply via Paper Application

Prospective students may also download a paper application, request an application by mail, or request an application by phone 410-455-2537. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply online in lieu of using a paper application, as online applications are processed more quickly.

Application Fee
Application to UMBC graduate programs requires a $50 fee for on-line submissions, or a $70 fee for paper submissions. For specific details, click here.

ETS Codes for UMBC
The Educational Testing Service has assigned UMBC a TOEFL code of – 5835. The GRE code for UMBC is also the same – 5835. These are the codes that are required on the TOEFL and GRE forms indicating which university you wish to have the test results sent.
