What: Changes to the GSA grant policy
There
have been important changes to the GSA grant policy, approved by the GSA
Senate, effective October 6th, 2008. Previously, graduate students were allowed
up to $500 per grant each semester to present at professional conferences, with
tenure cap at
$2,500
for PhD students and $1,500 for Masters students.
Students will now be allowed up to $1,000/grant for the fiscal year to present
at conferences ($250/grant to attend as a non-presenter). Additionally, receipts
MUST be submitted to the GSA office no later than 2 weeks after the end of the
conference. Any submissions after that time will not be accepted. One may
petition an exception to the 2 week deadline, in advance of the conference, to
the GSA Executive Board. Petitions must state why it would be impossible for
one to submit a receipt within those 2 weeks and decisions are at the sole
discretion of the Executive Board.
