On February 21, 2007 UMBC students
from the Issues in Global Health and Disease (HAPP 398)class and instructor
Jeanette Jeffrey attended a
presentation by Dr. Yamada, President of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation,
at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Following the presentation, UMBC students met privately with Dr. Robert Black,
Chair of JHSPH International Health Department and co-author of
"International Public Health: Diseases, Programs, Systems, and Policies,"
the required text for HAPP 398.
