Federal Government Internships

    Interns in the Federal Government are exposed to the broad range of issues and work environments; they  frequent the Library of Congress and the National Archives, and attend congressional hearings, research areas of policy, write analytical reports, assist in preparing conference material, and draft constituent correspondence.

    Highly competitive yet rewarding, the White House Intern Program offers internships in an array of departments, two in particular - Cabinet Affairs and Intergovernmental Affairs - are best suited for those with a history background. Although duties vary based on session, research and writing are integral to White House internships.

National Park Service and General Services Administration Internships

The National Park Service offers a variety of internships in historic preservation at historic sites. Interns assist with archeological work, educational outreach, research, and a variety of other programs.
