Internships in Media
Interns assist staff in fact checking, photo/video research, and image logging; they respond to freelance queries, as well as carry out administrative tasks.
As there are no more than four interns per department, C-Span promises an opportunity for hands-on experience. Interns assist in research and writing and/or production for a specific unit or department. They conduct research on Capitol Hill, assist in public relations, participate in community outreach programs and the C-Span School Bus, and gain exposure to the development of online technology.
Interns conduct program research, provide media analysis and assemble data for upcoming projects.
At National Public Radios headquarters, interns are involved in research for daily stories and long-term projects; they locate archival tape, brainstorm story ideas, and conduct story research for reporters and editors.
The weekly political journal offers interns positions in fact checking, editing, as well as the opportunity to write short articles.
At the magazine division of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, interns assist the staff in fact checking, photo research, accepting/rejecting freelance queries, and administrative work. Prior interns have had the opportunity to write for the magazine.
