Amy M. Froide, Associate Professor (Ph.D. Duke
University)
Professor Froide holds the Bearman Family Chair in Entrepreneurship for
2007-08. She teaches courses on British history and European
Women’s History, especially focusing on the years 1500-1800. Her current research centers on women and entrepreneurship. She is the
co-editor with Judith M. Bennett of Singlewomen in the European Past,
1250-1800 and author of the 2005 book, Never Married: Singlewomen in Early Modern England.
Professor Froide also holds an affiliate appointment in Gender and Women's Studies.
Dr. Froide is also the recipient of a Huntington Museum and Archives research fellowship.
