Advising

Fulltime Faculty serve as Academic Advisors for undergraduate and graduate History students. Please contact Ms. Carla Ison < ison@umbc.edu> at the Department of History, Administration Building 7th floor, or call 410-455-2312, to request an advisor.

The Departent of History at UMBC offers an undergraduate major and minor, a minor in East Asian History, as well as the Master of Arts in Historical Studies. Undergraduates who have completed at least 60 credits may qualify for the Accelerated Bachelors/Masters Program. Graduate students interested in professional careers at historical sites, in government agencies, museums, and other organizations may choose the Public History Track option in the M.A. in Historical Studies program. The Department of History is also affiliated with the Ph.D. in Public Policy through the Public Policy History Track, and the Language Literacy and Culture Ph.D. For more information visit:
