WHAT'S NEW

Congratulations to the 66 Honors College students who graduated from UMBC this spring with a Certificate of General Honors. We were thrilled to honor them and their families at our Medallion Ceremony in May!

We are proud to announce that 4 out of the 5 UMBC alums who received Fulbrights are Honors College graduates. David Anguish ’12 will be traveling to Mexico, Vivian Ekey ’11 to Brazil, Acsah Joseph ’12 to Malaysia, and Ryan Max ’11 to Laos. Madeline Hall ’12 was named an alternate for research in New Zealand.

Great news! Dr. Tyson King-Meadows, Honors College Advisory Board Member and Faculty Fellow, was recently awarded a Congressional Fellowship by the American Political Science Association. This competitive award will provide Dr. King-Meadows, Political Science, with an opportunity to spend 9 months working in the U.S. Congress.

Kudos to Ke “Coco” Tang ’14, who was awarded a Boren Scholarship to study abroad in Amman, Jordan in Spring ’13. The prestigious Boren Awards are funded by the National Security Education Program.
