In silico kinetic model of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii

A kinetic metabolic model of the microalgae Chlamydomonas
reinhardtii encompassing 15 pathways, 320 reactions, and 218 compounds was
created. A total of 376 Km enzymatic kinetic constants (63% of total) as
well as 182 turnover numbers (84% of total) were determined by using the
BRENDA database for enzyme properties. The model predicts previously
published experimental observations, including the augmentation in lipid
production and decrease in biomass generation under nitrogen-deficient
conditions and the effect of up-regulating Acetyl-Coa Carboxylase (EC:
18.104.22.168) (previously documented during the Aquatic Species Program (ASP)).
