UMBC High Performance Computing Facility
Please note that this page is under construction. We are documenting the
240-node cluster maya that will be available after Summer 2014.
Currently, the 84-node cluster tara still operates independently,
until it becomes part of maya at the end of Summer 2014.
Please see the 2013 Resources Pages under the Resources tab for tara information.
Resilience and Scalability Modeling for Exascale
Computing using Nonlinear Optimization techniques
Milton Halem and Tyler Simon
Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering
NSF Center for Hybrid Multicore Productivity Research
This research focuses on measuring parallel application behavior of various
high performance computing hardware and providing performance feedback using
optimization techniques. The approach uses a simulation framework and run
time software interface to gather metrics that can be used for predicting
application performance at scale.
