RESPONSIBILITIES:The incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Windows based computing infrastructure for the Facilities Management department, and will advise on proper and best use of technical systems. Specific duties include: developing strategies for systems integration for the various tools and IT systems deployed currently in the department; administering the applications maintained by the department including user access, security, documentation and software maintenance; maintaining the departmental IT resources including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers and various other IT related equipment that are critical for the operation of a modern facilities department; working with department leadership to identify new as well as existing but underutilized tools that can assist the department with their activities, including design, implementation planning and end user training; working closely with end users to help identify weaknesses in existing technologies and work to analyze existing processes to propose adjustments to help improve how the department conducts business through the increased use of technology; working closely with the Division of Information Technology to leverage campus wide resources and services where applicable while providing a more in depth level of support and assistance for end users within the department; handling all the daily IT operations of the department and working with users to resolve issues in a timely manner; and performing other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Requires a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Information Systems or related field and at least two years of experience within the Windows and Macintosh environments and hands-on experience with hardware such as Dell and HP. Must be able to diagnose problems and implement solutions quickly. Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to: work independently with little supervision; to set priorities; and to handle multiple/concurrent tasks. The incumbent must also be able to handle the physical challenges of the position which include extended periods working at a computer, lifting, moving, and installing systems. Note: This position may require a background check.
