RESPONSIBILITIES:The incumbent will be responsible for promoting the UMBC Erickson School through effective communication, developing relationships and making presentation to groups of all sizes. The Erickson School’s undergraduate degree program in Management of Aging Services is a unique program that incorporates business and policy through aging studies. All businesses and organizations will be impacted by an aging population and we educate our students to become future leaders in this field, widen their perspectives and create solutions for a growing demographic. Specific duties include: advising students; providing information and program benefits to prospective students and their parents; developing and executing promotional activities that support the recruitment of undergraduate students; assisting and advising new students regarding major and minor requirements; developing relationships within the UMBC community, in particular the Recruitment Office, and participating in their recruiting events on and off campus, including college fairs; and performing other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of experience, preferably in a sales, marketing, recruitment, or related field. Must be able to: communicate effectively, develop relationships, and make presentations to groups of all sizes. An in depth knowledge of social media platforms, and the ability to create engaging content is required. A proven ability to be flexible, work independently and with diverse populations is required. This individual will need the capacity to listen and respond to individual’s questions and concerns, and to interact in a positive manner with a diverse student population. This position will require working evenings and weekends for recruiting events. An interest in Aging Services is preferred.
SALARY:Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
