| RESPONSIBILITIES: | The incumbent will possess a comprehensive knowledge base of grants and contracts to provide quality service in the area of pre-award to department faculty, postdoctoral and graduate students. Specific duties include: being knowledgeable of federal and state regulations and policies; working with Business Services Specialist, Assistant Director of Business Services and faculty to manage all specifications of grant proposals; supervising administrative assistant and student workers; assisting faculty with coursework and exams; organizing department visitors, seminars, travel arrangements, reimbursements, honorariums, etc.; assisting undergraduate and graduate students as needed; and performing other duties as assigned. |
| MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: | Education/Experience: Requires a High School Diploma/GED and four years of directly related experience. Must have working knowledge of grants and contracts policies or ability to learn Federal State, and funding agency requirements related to grants and contracts. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, follow verbal and written instructions, work in an independent and self-directed manner. Knowledge of computers and other office equipment required. Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access, as well as experience with PeopleSoft are desired.
Note: Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.

| SALARY: | Pay Range 10 ($32,271) based on the University System of Maryland Pay Program. |
