RESPONSIBILITIES:Under the supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director for Operations, the incumbent will have direct responsibility and accountability for the Equipment Room in the RAC recreational area as well as Athletic Stadium area. Responsibilities will include: opening the RAC facility as well as preparing equipment for P.E., Recreation, Intramurals, Club Sports, outside rentals, and athletic practice/sports events; maintaining and accounting for all equipment related to the different areas; assisting in special programs; ensuring inventory levels; determining work priorities; planning, and scheduling for RAC and Stadium needs; helping to provide a safe area for students, staff and the local community while using the RAC facilities and Stadium; performing other duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President and Athletic Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Experience: Requires a High School Diploma/GED (Bachelor’s degree in Athletics or related sports equipment field preferred) and three years of full-time experience in receiving, storing, issuing, laundering, cleaning, and repairing sports equipment and clothing. Must have good communication skills. Knowledge of Athletics and NCAA rules and regulations helpful. Must have general knowledge of care and use of athletic equipment and clothing; knowledge of athletic equipment and apparel inventory; ability to operate laundry and cleaning equipment; and the ability to lift, move, assemble and install large sports equipment. Note: Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
SALARY:Pay Range 8 (starting at $28,939) based on the University System of Maryland Pay Program
