|POSITION TITLE:||Administrative Assistant I (Job #016)|

|DEPARTMENT:||Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation|
|RESPONSIBILITIES:||: The incumbent will serve as initial contact for prospective and admitted students, parents and campus community in person and by telephone in a fast paced office environment. Specific duties include: providing information regarding campus visits, application processes and deadlines; relaying messages and instructions to staff; directing inquirers as appropriate; disseminating recruitment materials; assisting with routine and mass mailings; coordinating inquiry response process; screening and distributing departmental mail; assisting with inventory control; entering and updating data in PeopleSoft Recruit; and performing other duties as assigned.|
|MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:||Education/Experience: Requires a High School Diploma/GED and two years full-time clerical or related experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
Note: Position may require a typing test, skills exercise and background check.
|SALARY:||Pay Range 8 (starting at $28,939) based on a University System of Maryland Pay Program.|
