RESPONSIBILITIES:The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) Imaging Research Center (IRC) seeks a Web Developer/ Designer to be responsible for the design and programming of online applications that deliver media and information through interactive environments. With a quarter century of experience, the IRC is a leader in taking an entrepreneurial approach to leveraging new technologies and emerging trans-media platforms to reimagine content in forms that will do good. Specific duties include: overseeing research of, and producing innovative and experimental web applications; developing and designing such applications; working in a collaborative, team-based environment with faculty, staff, students and/or outside collaborators; and performing other duties as assigned. Note: This position is grant-funded wherein employment is contingent upon the renewal of the grant. Position is funded for at least two years from the start date of a new hire.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelor’s degree preferably in design, media, or online production and two years professional experience. Must have advanced technical skills in designing and building web based media including HTML, CSS Javascript, Php and MySQL and knowledge of best practices in social media. Experience working in a team environment and desire to be the creative lead and manager on projects required. Familiarity with Wordpress and Google Maps API is a plus.
SALARY:Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
