|POSITION TITLE:||Administrative Assistant II (Job #019)|

|RESPONSIBILITIES:||The incumbent will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Department Chair, the faculty and the American Studies Council of Majors. Specific duties include: maintaining accounts; tracking inventory; maintaining records for budgets; processing payroll; overseeing procurement; faculty time keeping; typing reports, articles, and correspondence; providing organizational support for special events and activities; publishing the departmental newsletter; taking detailed meeting minutes; and performing other duties as assigned.|
|MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:||Education/Experience: Requires a High School Diploma or GED and three years full time experience providing administrative support. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel or equivalent database management software is required. PeopleSoft skills are desired.
Note: Position may require a typing test, skills exercise and a background check.
|SALARY:||Pay Range 9 (starting at $30,305) based on a University System of Maryland Pay Program|
