|POSITION TITLE:||Administrative/Training Assistant|
|PERSONNEL STATUS:||Nonexempt, Part-time, Contingent I|
|RESPONSIBILITIES:||The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) Training and Organization Development Department (T&OD) seeks a part-time Administrative/Training Assistant. We are looking for a tech-savvy, detail-oriented, person with great project management and organizational skills to join our team. T&OD is a department within Human Resources that provides professional development opportunities for UMBC faculty and staff. The department also supports the UMBC Wellness Initiative.
The incumbent will provide administrative and program support in the areas of: needs assessment, advertising, scheduling, logistics, catering, evaluation, budget and program data management. It also includes support for meetings, online learning, website maintenance, and occasional research projects. Examples of duties include: updating website content; posting events online; desktop publishing; developing PowerPoint slides; online meeting scheduling; typing meeting notes and other documents; preparing handout packets; creating questionnaires; spreadsheet formatting; data entry; research; data analysis; creating reports; equipment and logistical support; keeping track of program tasks and due dates; and general administrative tasks. A variety of computer programs are used.
This is a temporary, Contingent I position and does not include benefits. The initial contract is for one year with the possibility for renewal. Position will work approximately 16 hours per week with a flexible schedule available during normal business hours, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.|
|MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:||Requires a High School Diploma/GED (some college preferred) and previous administrative or related work experience. Must have strong computer skills and experience with MS Office (particularly MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint). Experience working with documents, spreadsheets, and databases required. Must have: the ability to quickly learn new software and web-based programs; ability to be detail oriented and accurate; ability to juggle multiple tasks and responsibilities; good communication skills; and the ability to follow procedures and check work independently. A strong commitment to quality and accuracy is required as we have a public role within the university.
Preferred: Experience in supporting training programs, event planning, marketing, and the university budget process and procedures preferred. Knowledge of PeopleSoft, REX, SkillSoft, R-25, Contribute, and Survey Monkey desired. Experience in website maintenance a plus.
|SALARY:||Salary range is $14-$16 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience.|
