|RESPONSIBILITIES:||Reporting to the Operations Manager for Event Production, the incumbent will be responsible for preparing and operating a variety of complex multimedia and technical equipment such as sound, lighting, staging, projection equipment, and media distribution systems. Specific duties include: coordinating complex equipment needs and requests from clients, both internal and external to the university; consulting and assisting with planning large scale events; training others on use of facilities and equipment; acquiring overall knowledge of The Commons and University Center and its functions; keeping up-to-date regarding daily events, maintenance projects and related matters and communicating relevant information to appropriate staff; coordinating and maintaining security and safety protocols; tracking and updating inventory; preparing reports, recommendations, and other information resources for the operation of The Commons and University Center facilities and its operations; establishing effective communication channels and acting as liaison between The Commons and University personnel and vendors/contractors; supervising 15-25 student employees; and performing other duties as assigned.|
|MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:||Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelorís degree in Multimedia Technology or related field and one year in the operation and maintenance of audio-visual or multimedia equipment. Extensive knowledge in audio and lighting design, distributed video, and facility management is strongly desired.
Note: Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
|SALARY:||Pay range 11 (starting at $34,238) based on a University of Maryland Pay Program|
