RESPONSIBILITIES:The incumbent will provide administrative support to the Department of Economics. Specific duties include: serving as Graduate Program Coordinator; serving as payroll alternate; reconciling checks; acting as SCEQ coordinator; processing expense forms; preparing employment documents for adjunct faculty and graduate assistants; providing front desk support which includes greeting visitors and answering telephones; filing; and performing other duties as assigned. Position will work 20 hours per week. Flexible schedule may be available depending on departmental needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Requires a High School Diploma/GED and three years full time experience providing administrative/secretarial support. Must have strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel). Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service, and organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks independently. Note: Position may require a typing test, skills exercise and a background check.
SALARY:Pay Range 9 (starting at $15,153 prorated on a 20 hour work week) based on a University System of Maryland Pay Program
