RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting to the Director of Administration, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting the Director in managing the business services and activities for the Dean’s Office and College of Engineering and Information Technology (COE & IT). Specific duties include: providing financial, business, and administrative support for the department; managing and assisting the Director in planning department budgets; processing payroll for the Dean’s Office; overseeing the use of procurement cards; processing travel and expense reimbursements for the Dean’s Office and reviewing international travel for the COEIT departments; coordinating budgeting for service agreements and replacement and/or upgrade of office furniture, supplies and equipment; supervising student staff; managing inventory control; financial troubleshooting for the Director; and performing other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Requires a High School Diploma/GED and six years progressively responsible experience in a combination of budgeting, accounting, payroll, purchasing, and personnel work, one year of which involved full supervisory responsibility. Must have excellent communication, customer service, organizational, computer, problem-solving, and time management skills. A proven ability to work independently and with diverse populations is preferred. PeopleSoft HR and Finance experience is strongly preferred. Note: Position will require a background check.
SALARY:Pay Range 11 (starting at $34,238) based on a University of Maryland System Pay Program
