|POSITION TITLE:||Program Management Specialist (Job #039)|

|DEPARTMENT:||Dresher Center for the Humanities|
|RESPONSIBILITIES:||The incumbent will report directly to the Director of the Dresher Center and have programmatic and administrative responsibilities for the Dresher Center for the Humanities. Specific duties include: working with the Director to plan and implement the annual Humanities Forum lecture series, special workshops and events for faculty; supporting the Center's fellows; coordinating fellowship and scholarly funding programs; overseeing preparation and mailing of 2000+ announcements and calendars to UMBC community and off-campus persons several times a year; developing, updating and maintaining databases of persons interested in Dresher Center events, regional humanities departments and contacts, and all UMBC faculty and graduate students with humanities research interests; making travel and lodging arrangements for visiting scholars; evaluating the attendance and quality of the Centerís programs; investigating public interest and potential audiences for Dresher Center lectures and readings; gathering information needed by Director or Associate Director for projects, including grant and fellowship opportunities in the humanities; assisting in the preparation and submission of grant proposals; preparing payroll; purchasing and managing P-card and D-card; answering telephones; meeting and greeting visitors; reconciling and reporting on all financial accounts and current budget; preparing, proofreading and managing web and paper publications of the Centerís activities; initiating, answering, proofreading and correcting routine Center correspondence; creating and updating databases; updating and maintaining the Dresher Center website as needed; working with the Director and Associate Director to plan the budget; providing monthly budget reports on all accounts; reconciling monthly with PeopleSoft; and performing other duties as assigned.|
|MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:||Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelorís degree and at least two years experience in administrative staff work. Must be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Calendar, shared online file storage, and Wordpress for website maintenance. The ability to work independently and proactively is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. PeopleSoft and TRex experience a plus.
Note: Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge skills, and abilities required may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year experience.
This position will require a background check.
|SALARY:||Pay Range 10 (starting at $32,271) based on a University System of Maryland Pay Program.|
