|POSITION TITLE:||Administrative Assistant II (Job #052)|

|RESPONSIBILITIES:||The incumbent will provide administrative support to the Computer Science and Electrical Engineering Department (CSEE). Responsibilities include: creating and entering into Student Administration (SA) a course schedule each semester in conjunction with the Chair of the department Scheduling Committee, GPDs, UPDs, and Chair; working with other departments and Registrarís Office to complete the departmental teaching schedule and room reservations; triaging articulation requests for appropriate faculty; assisting students needing faculty advising; greeting potential students and families, seeking department tours; overseeing editing of the CSEE programs in the undergraduate catalog; assisting with resolution of student complaints/issues; making recommendations regarding teaching schedules and potential part time instructors; helping organize data records and files in a convenient electronic format for appropriate personnel to use; scheduling meetings pertaining to the undergraduate programs, i.e. Town Hall meetings, monthly program meetings; coordinating the collection and subsequent submission of names of students for the various campus and college awards given out at commencement time (i.e., SHAB, Joshi Award, COEIT Outstanding Student award); and performing other duties as assigned. Position reports to the Coordinator.|
|MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:||Education/Experience: Requires a High School Diploma/GED and three years full time experience providing administrative/secretarial support. Must have good verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) required. Knowledge of Filemaker strongly preferred.

|SALARY:||Pay Range 9 (starting at $30,305) based on a University System of Maryland Pay Program|
