RESPONSIBILITIES:This position will be located at UMBC in the Office of Institutional Advancement will report to the Director of Advancement Operations. However, the position is funded by the UMBC foundation, and the incumbent will be considered an employee of the foundation not UMBC. The incumbent will be part of the Operations team and will assist with numerous campus events in a dynamic, high-paced environment. Specific duties include: developing invitation lists; organizing and tracking RSVP lists; tracking event expenses and coding to appropriate event; coding attendees into complex database developing invitation lists for numerous events, for which each list is unique to the specific event and is compiled from many other sources; addressing envelopes through a mail merge and distributing event information to attendees; maintaining a very specific and complex RSVP process in a timely manner and assuring complete information; and other specific duties as assigned. Note: This position is will be part-time for 20 hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree required. One to two years of experience working with data, systems and/or event support in a complex environment preferred. The qualified candidate will have skills, abilities and knowledge in the following: strong Microsoft office skills and expert fluency with Excel, experience with complex databases and in particular, SunGard Advance, detail oriented team player with exceptional time management and organizational skills,ability to work under pressure with deadlines, strong customer service orientation,desire to work with events in a “behind the scenes” role and to assist with events in the “front of house” on occasion.
SALARY:Commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is funded by the UMBC foundation and does NOT include university benefits.
