RESPONSIBILITIES:This position shall be employed by the UMBC Foundation and shall not be employed by UMBC directly. The Erickson School at UMBC is a professional school that focuses on preparing a community of leaders who will use their education to improve society by enhancing the lives of older adults. For more information about the Erickson School and its programs, interested applicants are encourages to visit our website, erickson.umbc.edu About the Position Under direct supervision of the Graduate Program Director, the Coordinator will manage the operations of the graduate and professional programs, serve as lead recruiter, and support marketing the school through management of the web site, social media outlets and other strategies/tactics. Coordinator responsibilities include: • Identify opportunities to increase visibility and enrollments • Establish, build and maintain relationships with prospects • Attend and exhibit at industry conferences and career fairs to increase visibility and awareness of the School, establish relationships and recruit students • Coordinate alumni ambassadors to assist with recruiting • Work with UMBC Creative Services to market the graduate and professional programs and coordinate on University-level Graduate School promotion • Manage scheduling, space and other logistics related to graduate and professional programs • Assist the Director with academic needs to support the graduate program • Interact with the graduate program admissions committee as needed • Be the liaison between the graduate program and UMBC • Maintain school website and social media outlets with current and accurate information • Other responsibilities as may be assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A successful candidate must possess and demonstrate the following core competencies: • Bachelor's degree required; master’s degree preferred • 1-3 years of aging services or higher education marketing/sales experience • Excellent planning and organizational skills • Superior oral and written communication skills • Drive and motivation to succeed in a competitive business setting • Strong aptitude for building and managing relationships • Strong people skills with a clear understanding of how to provide excellent customer service through relationship building • Able to work independently • Must be able to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends • Must be able to travel as assigned • Adaptable and flexible, able to prioritize and respond effectively to multiple demands • Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and databases • Strong social media skills (both technical skills and the application of content) preferred
